re Rambam/wine
Question
Dear Rav, I didn`t get it quite right so here is the exact quote from R.Forst`s book, The Laws of Kashrus published by Artscroll, under a section dealing with foods that cannot become batel. "Yayin nesech, due to it`s association with Avodah Zarah cannot become Batel in any amount of wine. It can become batel, however in other foods with a 60 to one ratio, batel b`shishim." It then has a footnote number and cites the Rambam 15:8. I`ve no idea if this referring to the first or last part, or both. Either way it does not appear to be your opinion( Or the Rema, for that matter) Please clarify for us, Thanks, Martin

Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiThe Shulchan Aruch Yore Deah Siman 134 # 5 (& Shach 21) says that wine in liquid is batel b"sheish. Maybe the book is about the past, but now, we don't have that form of Yayin Nesech in products. (we possibly would have it in churches - maybe) CYA
