Re: Restaurant

Question

Dear R' Abadi, Chodesh Tov. I would like to ask a follow up question the one in which you said there are certain things we could eat in a non kosher restaurant, e.g. "If there is vegetable soup with no meat or cheese, or like a ministrone…They can grill vegetables for you…Onion soup without cheese or meat is OK.…At an italian restaurant you can order cheeseless Pizza…Roasted peppers for salads are good. The desserts are usually fine, just ask them…Some places have Chumous". Since these are all vegetables, does this mean Bishul Akum does not apply to cooked vegetables? What about eating in a vegetarian restaurant. Could we eat everything without cheese in a vegetarian restaurant? Thank you.

The rules of Bishul Akum are in our Jewish Laws Section on this site. You must read it. Some veggies are OK, and others are not. AA
