Scroll Project
Question
I think your Scroll Project is an excellent idea. Howver, I am curious whether there are other authorities that argue that this method is not acceptable for writing a sefer torah. In fact, it seems that when performing this process, one is lacking in actually writing the sefer torah. please explain how this is a kosher ktivah, and the svara behind it. Also include the reasoning behind the other shitot, if there are any. Thank you in advance for your time, and I wish you much success in this project.

Answered by Aaron AbadiMy father has a 20-30 page Teshuva in Hebrew on it. But we'll put on this website within the next few weeks a watered down version of it in English. The simplest understanding is that the early Acharonim argued on real printing. Some said it's OK & others disagreed. The problems that they had with printing is not there in a silkscreen process. So technically all those early Acharonim would agree that silkscreen is OK. The current complaints are politically motivated. AA
