electric eye

Question

1)A store has a bell triggered by electric eye as you enter. i made an arrangement with storeowner to open the back door which has no bell. when he saw me. When i got there he turned off the electric eye -he said it was easier than going to the back. do I request that he open back door or is it ok because he choose to turn off the electric eye for his own convenience? 2) If ok should i say in future he should do whichever he'd rather do and go with it?
