dear Rabbi, could you please explain how to make a cup of coffee on shabbat. i am still unclear on the nuances- klei rishon.... can i pour the hot water from the urn that was plugged in before shabbat directly into the cup that has the coffe grounds? Must i prepare tea before shabbat or can I use a tea bag?and finally am I allowed to squeez a lemon to make a drink or am I only allowed to add the lemon to flavor food? Answered by Aaron AbadiInstant coffee has no Bishul Problems. A Tea bag can be put into water thet is a Keli Sheni. Which means if you fill a mug with hot water, the urn is Keli Rishon and the mug is Keli Sheni. You can now put in a tea bag. Squeezing a Lemon is a bit of a problem. According to the Mishneh Berurah, you should squeeze it into the sugar and then add that mixture to the tea. AA
