Shabbat
Question
When we say that a mehallel Shabbat is not a valid witness, does this mean a habitual Sabbat violator, or one who violates it occasionally. Since most Orthodox Jews turn on the hot water in their house on Shabbat, it seems that it would be very difficult to find a valid witness.

Answered by Aaron AbadiFor details about who is and who is not a valid witness, look up the Rambam Hilchot Edut (Shoftim) Perek #10 and on... Regarding the hot water on Shabbat, it's still better than carrying in an Eiruv, or making blessings on Torahs that aren't Kosher, etc.... AA
