Shabbat in deal

Question

Hi 1)As you can see in the subject area i am from deal. A lot of jews including myself, ride bycicles on shabat, We grew up here with the belief that it is permissible on shabbat. I hear that some rabbis say it is not OK to do this, and i wanted to know what your point of view is. 2) Is it OK to watch TV on shabbat?? If it is on already, can a jew change the channels?? 3) Is electricity considered fire?? If it is not fire, can you turn on lights on shabat?? 4) Can you turn on lights on Yom tov? Thanks

1) It is not allowed, Sorry. 2) No, unless the person is in the hospital or something. 3) Maybe, Maybe not! It is still one of those unknown things debated for generations. Don't turn lights on during Shabbat 4) Same, unless the light was on before Yom Tov, but was shut off by mistake. Then it's OK. AA
