Shaving Areas
Question
Rabbi, I read many posts on your site concerning shaving with a razor, however I am still unclear on exactly which areas are permitted. I thought that we are permitted to shave with a blade on the entire neck area (from under chin and down), is this correct? I think you wrote that one may shave their moustache with a razor blade, is that correct? Basically could you please let me know excactly what areas are allowed? Also, I know one is not allowed to cut their sideburns past the bone in that area, however, does the sideburns just have to touch the bone, pass the bone? Thanks for all your work, DM
Answer
Answered by Aaron Abadineck is not from under the chin. Neck is Neck, and you can use a razor on the neck, not the chin. Why is this an issue? Why not buy an electric shaver? on Sideburns you cannot use a Razor, but with a shaver and/or a trimmer you don't need to worry about bones, just leave a little coming down and you are OK. Just a few rows of hair. AA
