Shaving on Chol Hamoed

Question

K'vod Harav, With regard to shaving on chol hamoed: If someone has a thin, short beard and they shave their neck/cheeks every day to prevent it from "spreading" (the actual beard is only trimmed twice a week), are they allowed to continue on chol hamoed? If they abstain from shaving the neck and cheeks, they will begin to look unkempt after one or two days. Not trimming the beard itself will not really be apparent. Thank You
