shiduchim lashon harah

in the process of shidduchim, there is a lot of discussion about the person in question, the family, every stupid, tiny and miniscule aspect of their life from birth through college. even though this is all done with the intentions of finding a marraige partner, isn't this plain and simple - lashon harah?!

Answered by Aaron AbadiNo. Lashon Harah is allowed when it is for a purpose, not for malice. Some people have different hang-ups than others. Some are just totally crazy, but it is still not Lashon Harah. AA
