Question

1. It was my understanding that most rabbanim believe "yad soldes bo" to be 110 degrees, not 125. Does your father hold differently? And if so why? 2. Most hot water heaters CAN be set at above 125 degrees. The warning doesn't stop it from going above. 3. Your father was quoted as not being familiar enough with all the facts of hotwater heaters, after my question was asked. Does the pasak still hold up? 4. Can you please define what a SEPARATE hot water heater is? I have a hot water heater, but how do I know if it is separate from the heating system. 5. You said one can use all types of soap. Does this include bar soap?? Thank You. MP

1. & 2. My father said according to his test he paskens this way. 3. That was in reference to another question which does not change the p'sak. 4. Some hotwater heaters are one unit together with the heating system. Those you cannot lower without hurting the heat in the house. You could only do it in the summer. 5. all soaps CYA
