For the further elucidation of the ideas discussed on this great forum: I've come across an excellent link that has a translation of the essentials of the Shulchan Aruch, with summaries of the se'ifim in Yoreh Deah and Orach Chayim. Check out http://www.torah.org/advanced/shulchan-aruch/ In order to "legally" cover myself, I am quoting directly from the site: "It should be stressed that the statements in a summary must not be interpreted as halachic rulings no matter how definitively they are worded. When such rulings are needed a qualified rabbi must be consulted" I hope I am not creating more work for Rabbi Abadi by posting this!!!

It says there the following," It is forbidden to use milk milked by a non-Jew if it is possible that the milk of an unkosher animal was mixed with it (115:1). It is forbidden to eat cheese made by a non-Jew if it is possible that it was made with unkosher rennet (115:2). " But this is not true. In Shulchan Aruch it clearly states that even if there's no chance that they used non Kosher ingredients in the cheese, it is not allowed because of a Gezera (rabbinical decree). This could not be the transalation of the Shulchan Aruch. As I browsed thru, I found many more misrepresentations. This is not the Shulchan Aruch! Beware! AA
