Question
If I am at a hotel for one night can I use the pot in the kitchen, putting it on the stove, relying on setam kelim? Let's say I am given an apt. for a few months? Where do you draw the line?
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiLeCharchilah you should Kasher it by boiling some water, covering it, and allowing it to steam. Normally we don't Kasher if it was used for Treif that day, but we rely on Stam Keilim to say it is OK. If you didn't Kasher it, the food is Kosher for that day and for 3 months and even 10 years later. AA
