Shulhan Arukh
Question
Don't you agree that there are some things in the Shulhan Arukh that we don't follow and there is no need to follow -- as the minhag is simply not to? See e. g., Orah Hayyim 271:10 where acccording to Shulhan Arukh one must take the kiddush cup from someone else and hold it with both hands. I have seen great rabbanim make kiddush and they don't do this.
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiAbsolutely! But we need a "Qualified Posek" to make those determinations. The Rambam has details as to who falls under this category. The numbers are very limited. AA
