The news just came out with the fact that all the Ashkenazi Sifrei Torah at the Kotel besides two were found to be Pasul. (In the Hebrew Paper "Mishpachah Pg 17). The Sephardi ones are usually Pasul, because they are missing the Kutzo Shel Yud (a tip to the letter "Yud."). Our Shul was using a Pasul Sefer for years, with huge black blotches throughout. Of course our Tefillot are not accepted when there are so many Brachot LeVatalah (blessings in vain), in every Shul and by the Kotel. This isn't a personal thing. This is Judaism. The Mishmeret STAM has been admitting and claiming for years that over 90% of Stam is Pasul today, in the frummest Jewish Communities. Silkscreen was made to bring down the cost and bring up the quality. The Mishmeret Stam is worried that they'll lose their monopoly. It's not my dirty laundry, it's yours, it's the laundry of all Jews that believe in God. Besides, we only shared a personal uplifting experience with Rabbi Pinchas Scheinberg. We don't expect to get a thousand orders from this email. As long as Rav Elyashiv & Rabbi Ovadia Yosef have a freeze on it, we are not going to get it into the mainstream. I only emailed it to my neighbors and a few friends and family, less than a hundred people. I didn't post it on my website (until now), that is viewed daily by thousands of people.
