Southern Comfort

Question

I understand from sources at the OU that Southern Comfort is not ok anymore. I understood that years ago the 100 proof version was kosher. I still see it at very observant peoples homes and even at kidush in certain shuls. Southern Comfort bottled in Ireland and sold in Israel is accepted as under hechsher in Britain. There are many different versions of this drink at least as far as the alcohol content is concerned. Can you shed any light on whether it can be udes or not.

It's fine. They're worried about wine being added. It's OK for many reasons. AA
