may one turn a gas stove top { with an electric starter for the flame} on and/or off on yomtov?

Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiYou cannot use the electric starter to light the gas stove, unless you cannot get a fire to light the stove from AND you had lit the gas before Yom Tov and it went out somehow beyond your control. You can turn off the gas for any reason. CYA
