Tephillin & Mezuzot
Question
Based on prior postings here I learned that checking mezuzot and tephillin are completely unnecessary unless they are exposed to the outdoors and open air or to water (as in the case of wet hair for tephillin). Is this correct? Is checking them twice within 7 years just a myth? Thanks!
