timers
Question
If you have a light on a previously set timer turning on in a dark room where you need it just as second day of yomtov starts, can you make a bracha on it? how about havdalah?
Answer
Answered by Aaron Abadi1) No 2) I'm not certain of the question, but if you mean can you make Havdalah on electric lights, the answer is no. It is yet to be proven that electric light is actual fire. Interestingly enough, the ones who say electricity is certainly from the Torah and it's real fire, still don't allow electric bulbs for the Chanuka Menora. AA
