trikke

Question

Hi Rabbi, From searchin old posts on the website my understanding is that the problem with riding a bike on shabbat is that there is a seat and would be considered maarat ayin. It would look like you are traveling a long distance and going on a trip. Would I then be able to use (in a kosher eruv of course) 1. rollerblades 2. scooter 3. trikke (similar to a scooter http://www.trikke.com) All of these things do not have a seat and you would be satnding at all times. Thank you for this informative website and the ability to pose my own questions.

Not Maarit Ha'Ayin, but rather Uvdah DeChol (looks like a weekday type act and is not appropriate for Shabbat). AA
