Tzizit

Question

I have a set of tzizit, where the begged ripped about 3/4 of the way through by the shoulders on each side, although both sides are still attached. Am I allowed to sew it up, and then wear it again, or would it be conisdered like making the garment after the tzizit are already on? Thanks
