Umbrella on Shabbat

Question

can you use an umbrella on shabbat if you opened it before shabbat.

Logically you can open it on Shabbat, just like you open a folding chair. You can't carry it in the street. But anyway it is one of those unwritten laws that will have you considered a Goy, so I highly recommend to you to just get wet. AA
