Whistling on Shabbat and vegetables

1. Can one whistle on Shabbat? 2. If your business has a luncheon and they have steamed vegetables (of the sort that you could also eat raw, such as carrots and peas) can you eat them, or is there a problem because they were prepared in non-kosher utensils?
