Yom Tov
Question
1. Can one turn off an electric oven on Yom Tov or only turn it on? 2. If one needs light in a room on Yom Tov, can one turn on the light (and if not, why does this differ from turning on the electric oven)? 3. Can one turn on the burglar alarm on Yom Tov?
Answer
Answered by Aaron Abadi1) You can turn off. 2) If you could have put it on before Yom Tov & you did not, then you cannot put it on, and the same goes with the oven. However if you need a light in a bedroom & if you put it on before Yom Tov, you would not be able to sleep, then the next day you can put on the light. If the oven would make the kitchen ridiculously hot if on all day & night, or you afraid the children will burn them selves if it's on when you're not in the kitchen, then the same applies. 3) Yes. AA
