Yom tov vs. shabbat

Question

Is everything on yom tov permissable if we forgot to do it before its start? May we turn on the tv on yom tov if we forgot to leave it on? May i shave on yom tov if i forgot to shave b4? Why is yom tov different than shabbat?

You obviously missed some very important posts. The only thing on Yom Tov that is OK that we were talking about, is lighting a fire or turning on a light, if you already did it before Yom Tov & it was extinguished, or if there was not enough time. AA
