Question
If R' Feinstein a"h held that USDA milk was fit to drink, taking it out of the 'chalav akum' category, why did he feel that more scrupulous individuals should drink milk with Jewish hashgacha? Based on his p'sak, are not Jewish milk and USDA milk now one and the same halachically?

Answered by Aaron AbadiHe held it was 100% OK for all. He says that over and over. He was concerned about 2 main things. He did not want people to forget the concept of Chalav Yisrael, since it still applies in third world countries. He also had a lot of opposition from this Psak, so he lightened that a little by suggesting that there was a place to be Machmir. But halachicly and from his own words it would seem that this would be completely unnecessary. Aaron Abadi
