Bishul Akum

Question

Dear Rabbi Abadi, Thank you so much for finally making possible an honest approach to Kashrut. I have seen mentioned a number of times that packaged foods are not forbidden because of Bishul Akum. Could you please explain why not (sources, explanation etc). If it is because of a kings Table didnt it become forbidden before it was packaged? What about food which was not cooked well would that also not be in Bishul Akum? Also you have mentioned that food which is eaten raw is not included in this law would that mean that fish is not in the law since people eat sushi which is raw. I am sorry if my questions sound unlearned but that is why I am asking you to clarify them. Thanks alot, YE

Answered by Aaron Abadi

1) because there is no connection possible between the non-jew who cooks it & the Jew who eats it. 2) Food cooked, but not well done is still considered cooked. 3) It needs to be more common first. AA
