Question
Dear Rabbi, About carrying a baby who can crawl in an eruv: You asked what the safek would be. The reason we don't use the eruv is because of a safek d'orayta about whether use of an eruv is legitimate or not (As you have said before, this is a machloket rishonim). I am asking if, when we are only dealing with an issur d'rabannan of hotzaa like chai nosei et atzmo, we can use the eruv because it becomes a safek d'rabbanan?
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiThe Shulchan Aruch and the RAMA by default and a majority of the other Acharonim prohibit it. The majority of community Eiruvim today are put up and managed by people with minimal knowledge of anything, let alone Eiruvin. Thus the answer is, no. Sorry AA
