Question

During the year of availus, am I allowed to attend my grandsons' siddur party? The children will probably be singing to taped music. Will it make a difference if someone is playing a real instrument such as a piano or guitar?

There is nothing wrong with an Avel (mourner) going into a house or place that has music by radio or tape, if that is not the main purpose of your visit. AA
