popcorn seeds - hechsher
Question
a while back a friend of mine was wondering about whether popcorn seeds need a hechsher- he asked some rabbi and the response was that though theyre obviously kosher - sometimes some companies add animal oil and fry the seeds a bit to extend their shelf life - and therefore one should refrain form using them without a hechsher- What does the Rabbi think of this ? is the oil batel ? it seemingly is less that 60, though i dont know how much oil was used or how long the corn was fried so that maybe the taam actually was absorbed...
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiIf there are ingredients on the package and they don't list the animal fat, there is none & it is kosher. AA
